On May 12th the Marion Police Department received calls of gun shots being fired.
At 11:30am there were calls received of shots fired near the intersection of Leader St. and Chesnut Street. Officers responded and were told (5) black males in a small, newer, white car with dark tinted windows had fired shots at a black male who was walking on the sidewalk. Witness advised the suspect vehicle fled the scene and the victim got into a white mid sized car with a black female and left the area also. Shell casings were found at the scene. As of this time, the victim has not come forward or been identified.
At 11:48am another call was received of a shot being fired in the 600 block of Henry Street. A wintness saw a black male who was walking arguing with another black male who was driving a small black car. The witness then heard one loud gunshot and he saw the car leave the area and the person on foot running away also. Neither the person on foot nor the car was located or have been identfied at this time.
