There will be several City Council Committee meetings on Tuesday beginning with the finance committee at 6:30 p.m.
The committee will consider sending onto council an ordinance to enter into a one-year agreement for janitorial services at city hall, an ordinance to make an appropriation to the police supply line item and the law enforcement trust, trust expense, and ordinances to make an additional appropriations for the indigent driver alcohol monitoring fund and treatment fund for the probation department.
Finance committee will also take another look at an ordinance to appropriate the funds to bring back two city police officers. The ordinance brought forth by At-Large Councilman Josh Daniels was tabled in their May 7 meeting.
Jobs and economic Development will meet at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both Downtown Marion inc. and CanDo! will give their quarterly reports to the committee. There will also be a presentation of the projects for the city's formula grant by regional planning.
At 7:00 p.m., Municipal Services, Parks and recreation will meet for an update on the progress at the aquatic center and there will be further discussion on the Safety and Service Director positions. That will be a continued discussion from April 17 and an ordinance put forth by 2nd Ward Councilman Ayers Ratliff to combine the positions.
At 7:15 p.m. Legislation, Codes, and Regulations will meet to consider sending on an ordinance to provide greater detail to GIS Mapping related to an ordinance passed in 2011 that redrew ward boundaries.
At 7:30 p.m. Streets and Sewers will meet, however they have not provided an agenda for that committee at this time.
